Completed in 1898, this was Korea's first Gothic-style church, and its red brick and spire still stand out above Myeongdong. It is the centre of the Catholic Church in Korea and a designated national historic site.

Visitors can go inside outside Mass times. With light falling through the stained glass, the interior is remarkably quiet given the crowds just outside — a good place to pause during a day in Myeongdong.
