The National Museum of Korea is the country's largest museum, covering history and art from prehistory to the modern era. Its "Room of Quiet Contemplation", displaying pensive bodhisattva statues designated as national treasures, is especially celebrated.

The permanent galleries are free and spacious. Outside are gardens, a pond and stone pagodas for a stroll on a fine day. Allow half a day to see it properly.
